"I write novels for readers who want to fall in love with the main characters," Pat says. Her forté is emotionally told stories about people struggling to find their way...often facing danger, but also finding humor and love along the way.
Born in Michigan, Pat and her family moved to Texas when she was only age two. The family lived in San Antonio six years, then later Dallas. She was Lieutenant in the award-winning Golden Debs drill team at South Oak Cliff High School and an honors scholarship recipient at Southern Methodist University.
An early marriage to her high school sweetheart and the birth of three children kept Pat busy until the kids were old enough for Mom to go back to school herself. She completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in English at University of Missouri, Kansas City. The post-grad degree offered an emphasis in creative writing, putting Pat on a path to fiction writing.

The Quarterback's Wife
Pat's first husband was a quarterback with the Kansas City Chiefs for 12 years. She used her experiences as an NFL wife as background for her first novel effort, titled THE QUARTERBACK'S WIFE, which made the rounds of New York publishing houses but was not published. After Pat's long marriage ended, she stressed her way as a single mom through a career in advertising and marketing, with positions in Dallas and Austin. A second marriage to Dr. Bill Evans enabled Pat to focus on her true loves of writing, cooking, gardening, and swimming. Her novels OUT AND IN and BACKSTORY also have themes from the NFL days.

To fulfill a dream, Pat and Bill made the leap in 2020 to the Big Island of Hawaii, where the pair enjoy sunsets, exploring, and making new friends. The couple's two Cockalier dogs (Cocker/Cavalier 50-50) made the trip as well. They were named after a pair of well-known superstars: Meryl Streep and Lord Byron. Sadly, Byron crossed the Rainbow Bridge in November 2021, and Meryl followed him in May 2022. Pat and Bill miss them greatly.
