This is not political. Our nation faces a constitutional crisis. An attempted coup. One person, not even the president or his affiliate, can decide whether or not congressionally mandated payments will be made. And one person cannot take over our U.S. government agencies.

If you have not read about the recent actions of Elon Musk and Donald Trump, I urge you to tune in mainstream media—and by mainstream, I do not mean Fox News.

All Americans need to know why this is important. Please review this YouTube video by Heather Cox Richardson, a well-known American historian and a professor of history at Boston College. This "chat" is a bit long and windy, but Prof. Richardson is streaming live to an audience of 40,000, You can tell by her care and concern that she does not want her followers to lose heart and jump off a cliff. However, as Prof. Richardson says, Elon Musk is not an elected official. His "DOGE" agency is not a congressionally created agency. He was appointed by Trump, and at his command, Musk has bullied his way into vital U.S. agencies and gained access and control of all computer and payment systems.

Musk's team, according to WIRED magazine is made up of six computer nerds ages 19 to 24. "The six men are one part of the broader project of Musk allies assuming key government positions. Already, Musk’s lackeys—including more senior staff from xAI, Tesla, and the Boring Company—have taken control of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and General Services Administration (GSA), and have gained access to the Treasury Department’s payment system, potentially allowing him access to a vast range of sensitive information about tens of millions of citizens, businesses, and more. On Sunday, CNN reported that DOGE personnel attempted to improperly access classified information and security systems at the US Agency for International Development and that top USAID security officials who thwarted the attempt were subsequently put on leave. Do You Want a Bunch of Unvetted Kids Accessing Your Data?

As Prof. Richardson points out in her Feb. 2 "chat," the U.S. Treasury computer systems hold YOUR DATA, everything from your social security numbers to social security benefits to your tax returns, and more. Do you really want Musk and his team of computer nerds, who are not federal employees and do not have security clearances or even basic background checks, having access to YOUR financial and personal data?

Moreover, do you really want a South African-born, right-wing extremist, and serial philanderer with a mental health disorder deciding whether or not congressionally approved benefits will be paid, and to whom? Or whether charitable agencies receive funds to help people in need? Or whether YOUR financial data will be kept private? Or whether this person or that, based on their ethnic heritage, has a job?

Folks, what is happening threatens our nation and constitution. The president and his buddy Musk have gained access to and have taken control of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), General Services Administration (GSA), the Treasury Department’s payment system, and USAID, a State Department agency that helps America do good around the world by providing aid to countries that remain our allies. In addition, they have forced out or fired anyone who says no to their unconstitutional acts. They are attacking career FBI agents and the Department of Education, along with the above agencies. Who's next?

All of this is due to the fact that 49.80% of those who voted for president in 2024 did not understand that Donald J. Trump is an evil lunatic who does not have good intentions. And it is time for Republican voters, their congressional representatives, and their senators to stand up for what is right instead lying down or making excuses for what is wrong.

Please, if you are a Republican reading this, do you really want a president who does not honor his oath of office and continually violates the tenets of the U.S. Constitution, doing so secretly, late Friday evenings or over the weekend, with teams of unvetted individuals, while members of Congress are away from their offices and unaware of what is going on?

And please, for gosh sakes, stop watching Fox News. You are being propagandized.

Tonight and all this week, consider this: if all other news networks, from NBC to ABC, CBS, CNN, BBC and yes the lefty MSNBC all say similar things, but Fox News is saying the opposite or not even reporting the topic, don't you wonder why? That's because Fox is lying to you.

Mainstream news channels don't wake up every morning and call each other and ask what they're going to report. In fact, they're trying to compete by getting to the big story first. That's why I ask you to please tune in to any mainstream channel of your choice. And read mainstream print media. After you learn the truth about what Musk and Trump are doing, please contact your Republican congressman and senators and tell them to:

A would-be dictator is trying to take over our government, all in the name of revenge and removal of DEI programs (diversity, equity, inclusion). I fear for our nation's future. Not just whether government benefits will be paid on time. Not just financial aid to friendly, underdeveloped nations. Not just whether or not the budget minders are minding the budget. All of this begs the question of whether Musk could drain the U.S. Treasury on behalf Trump's orders? Could this happen? Am I simply paranoid?

It is imperative that the Republican-led Congress stand up to Trump now. Otherwise, he will do irreparable harm to our nation. In fact, we will not have a nation if this continues. We will have chaos, led by a dictator worth trillions of our U.S. dollars and a multi-billionaire tech guru to do his bidding. They could very well take over your data, your Internet, your government benefits, and your banks.

Whether you are Republican, Democrat, or like me, Middle of the Road but Lean Left, call or contact your representatives today. Tell them to stop this takeover of our nation's financial agencies, our FBI, our foreign aid agency, our budget watchdogs, our education department, and more. What Musk and Trump are doing violates the U.S. Constitution.
